Biography of Acharya Hazari Prasad Dwivedi

Hazari Prasad Dwivedi was born in 1907 AD in a village named 'Arat Dubey ka Chhapra, Ojhwalia' in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. His father's name was Mr. Anmol and his mother's name was Mrs. Jyotishmati. Acharya Dwivedi ji's childhood name was Vaidyanath Dwivedi. His education started in Sanskrit. His primary education took place in a rural environment. He passed the high school examination in 1927. In the same year, he got married to Bhagwati Devi. 1929 AD. Passed Intermediate and Shastri Shastri examination and 1930 AD. Received the degree of Acharya in Astrology and Literature from Kashi Hindu University. 1940 AD: Went to Shantiniketan as a teacher of Hindi and Sanskrit. It was here that he met world poet Rabindranath Tagore and turned towards literary creation. 1956 AD Appointed Chairman of the Hindi Department of Kashi Hindu University. For some time he also worked as the Head of the Hindi Department at Punjab University. 1949 AD 'D.' 'D' in Lucknow University. Lit', and in 1957 AD, the Government of India honored him with the title of 'Padma Bhushan'. He died in 1979 AD in Delhi.

Dwivedi ji started learning the art of writing poetry from Shri Vyomkesh Shastri in childhood. After reaching Shantiniketan, his talent started improving even more. Kavindra Ravindra had a special influence on him. He was also greatly influenced by Bengali literature. He was a high-class researcher, essayist, novelist, and critic. He rendered great service to Hindi literature by bringing Siddha literature, Jain literature, and Apabhramsha literature to light and by writing high-level critical books on devotional literature. Although Dwivedi Ji has composed excellent quality essays and novels based on new styles on many subjects, he was especially unique in composing personal and emotional essays. Dwivedi ji was also the President of 'Uttar Pradesh Granth Academy and Vice President of 'Hindi Sansthan'. He received the 'Mangala Prasad' award for his excellent critical work on Kabir. Along with this, 'Indore Sahitya Samiti' was awarded the 'Gold Medal' on 'Sur-Sahitya'.
